Message to Parents and Coaches
The four days in each of our boys and girls sessions, in the summer at Earlham
College, will be packed with the instruction, techniques, and drills a player
needs to shoot the basketball well.
Instruction and Improvement
How a player is drilled is one of the keys to becoming a great shooter. Your
player will be drilled twice daily on shooting and other offensive fundamentals
such as dribbling, shot fake, driving, pivoting, and passing. We believe after
teaching shooting for 40 plus years our shooting and scoring techniques are
second to none. We have had so many testimonials where a player was an average
shooter on the reserve team and, after attending our camp, went back and led
the varsity team in shooting. The ratio of players per coach
is 10-12 players per coach.
Individual Instruction
Players state they receive more individual instruction and attention at
our camp than any other basketball camp they have attended. Each player
takes home 2 instructional evaluations on his or her shooting. Besides
drilling on shooting at a station twice a day, we provide the best one-on-one instruction
in the country. Six professional shooting instructors, trained by Dick
Baumgartner, are on duty. Only these trained coaches work with the players
on a one-on-one basis. Your player can go to these coaches for one-on-one
instruction several times during the week. They are on duty morning, noon
and night.
Games and Competition
The camp will provide strong competition. Each player will play three
games a day. There will also be contests and prizes during the week. Players
will live and play in groups according to age and ability. Each player
will be supervised by a qualified coach.
Long Range Shooting
Besides teaching your player to shoot off the pass, the dribble, and the
stationary position, we can help him or her with their 3 point shot. After
a four year study and another four years working with players on 3 point
shooting, we can easily help develop better range. We will also show players
how to practice 3 point shooting. This is very important because long
range shooting needs to be practiced correctly or it can be detrimental
to a players shot.
Individual Shooting Routine
Each player leaves camp with an individual shooting routine. This enables
a player to practice properly so they can become a very good shooter and
scorer.
Skill Level
We work easily with a beginner. Our camp can help a really talented player
refine his or her shooting and other offensive fundamentals.
Pull Up Jump Shot
Our techniques and drills will help you to easily learn the pull up jump
shot. You need a pull up jump shot to go with your 3 pt. shot. The great
professional and collegiate players have a pull up jump shot to make them
more complete scorers.
6 New Air Conditioned Basketball Courts
These air conditioned courts will be in use at the 2007 Shooting Camps.
