Dick Baumgartner's Basketball Shooting CampWhere Great Shooters Are Made Not Born. |
The Dick Baumgartner Basketball Shooting Camp is the most successful and
experienced camp at teaching shooting and other offensive skills. Over 66,500
players have attended our shooting camps. Throughout this time we have had
so many testimonials where players have gone to camp and then gone back and
led their team and conference in scoring. We definitely can make you a better
shooter and scorer.
If you truly want to learn how to shoot better and score better, you need
to pick a camp that drills well, and gives great one-on-one instruction. How
you are taught and how you drill with a team, by yourself, or with an instructor
will determine how you progress.
There are no short cuts. Many camps, especially for younger players will give
ten minutes of instruction and 15 minutes of drilling. This will not get the
job done. Our techniques, drills, word usage, and one-on-one instruction are
super.
Basketball Skills Are Needed In Todays Game
Whether you are a beginner or a very talented player you will need basketball
skills. The beginner or young player will need them to progress. The very
talented player will need skills to achieve the highest levels.
Type of Basketball Camp
Our camp is an offensive skills camp with the emphasis on teaching shooting.
The offensive techniques, and drills we have developed through the last 34
years are the best. With them, we will definitely make you a better shooter
and scorer.
Talent Level
We have helped over 66,500 players of different abilities and talents. Some
of these players were beginners, some needed a lot of help, and some were
very talented. With the way our camp is structured we are able to provide
a very beneficial learning and playing experience for different talents and
abilities.
Camp Competition
Our enrollment provides a good grouping for each age level. Older players
play with older players and younger players play with younger players. We
move some players up if it seems necessary. We never move anyone down a level.
During each of our four day camps, players will play 9 games.
Best Over-All Experience
We believe our camp will provide you with the best over-all experience of
any camp you could attend.
What Coaches Want In Today`s Game
Coaches want complete scorers today. Most offenses today
require a player to be able to shoot, dribble, drive, pass, pull-up or go
all the way and finish strong around the basket.
"Sports Illustrated" had a big article about the dribble-drive-motion
offense that some of the big time coaches are now using. It is the offense
of the future. Our camp fits this type of play real well. We give you all
the skills needed to score.
Remember, coaches want complete scorers in today`s game. Also remember we
teach shooting and other offensive skills like the great players execute them.

"I first learned of Coach Dick Baumgartner in the early l980`s by way of a 16mm film. Watching the film about how to shoot a basketball led to reading his books. I have recommended his camp to young players through the years.Dave Whiteman is a retired coach and AD. He coached at Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Illinois.
With a son desiring to be a better shooter, I drove the 900 miles to Richmond, Indiana, in order for him to study under the very best. In fact, I brought five of his teammates along as well.
In twenty-six years of coaching and many basketball camps worked, I have never witnessed so much detail taught with such simplicity in such a short period of time. Every young person desiring to play basketball should attend but one camp, and that camp is Dick Baumgartner`s Basketball Shooting Camp.
Nothing compares to the gift every camper receives, and that is a real evaluation of the player`s shooting skill and how to make one a better shooter. I wish I could have attended just such a camp as a young player.
During my twenty-six year coaching career, I have witnessed and worked many basketball camps. There is no basketball camp that even compares with the Dick Baumgartner`s Basketball Shooting Camp. From the lecture to drill, the camp delivers the concepts necessary for becoming a better offensive player in a manner easily understood by young and older players. It is the perceptive eye of a master teacher and technition that sends each camper home with a custom made plan for future shooting success.
In an age of too many camps, there is but one camp that should be required of all young players , and that one camp is Dick Baumgartner`s Basketball Shooting Camp. In fact, shooting coaches at both the professional and college level would benefit from attending his shooting camps.
I know this fact, there will not be a summer when my players will not be advised to travel the 900 miles to Richmond, Indiana. Why go anywhere other than the best."
"In 1984 I worked my first of 8 consecutive basketball shooting camps. At that time, I was primarily interested in coaching football. Basketball and track was secondary so I mainly went to other type camps to improve my knowledge of basic fundamentals.Robert Strong Head Basketball Coach River Ridge High School, New Port Richey, Florida
However, as my 2 sons entered Junior High School, it was obvious that their passion was basketball. Therefore, I found myself involved in my first basketball camp. Little did I know that this decision would save our family $125,000 to $150,000.
Both of our sons attended Dick`s camps for 5 years in a row. Both of them were given the basic mechanics to improve their shooting skills, dribbling skills, and other offensive fundamentals. I am convinced that learning these things and practiciing them earned them both Div. 1 Basketball Scholarships. Dick Baumgartner has designed a camp based on relentless study of the proper way to practice and develop tremendous offensive skills. No other coach or camp in our nation has devoted the time, knowledge, and continuing study of these skills as has Dick Baumgartner.
The story does not end here. I am now retired and I was asked to take some youngsters from West Central, Illinois to Dick`s camp in the summer of 2005 ( It had been 14 years since I had been to his basketball shooting camp). Dick Baumgartner is still studying and importing this knowledge to hundreds and hundreds of players. I know why it is the number one attended basketball shooting camp in the country because I have been there and know what is given to each player who attends ( male or female).
He strives to improve his teaching methods each year. He does not rest on his laurels. Again, he gives the best instruction available anywhere. I am convinced that any Grade School, Junior High, or High School player, male or female wishing to shoot better and develop their other offensive skills should attend this camp. This last summer of 2005, I watched at camp players develop at a tremendous pace when they followed the techniques and drills given at camp. If they go home and correctly practice what was given at camp they have to become much better players."
"Starting a new program at River Ridge High School, our coaching staff felt we needed to improve our shooting fundamentals and techniques. Dick Baumgartner and his staff provided the top notch individual instructrion that our players needed. Each player left feeling that they improved, while enjoying a positive experience.
I would highly recommend Dick Baumgartner`s Basketball Shooting Camp for any program that wants to take their program to the next level.
This year we brought 17 players and next year I want to bring more. It was well worth the 20 hour drive from Florida."
